Any WHOers got an interest in this kind of thing?
Mate of mine Decca Heggie is fighting Julius Francis for the Guvnor title next week. No idea what state Francis keeps himself in these days but that's a brave fight to take on for someone who had never stepped into a ring until three years ago.

Arse, Downham Tavern is alive and well. I was in there before Southampton watching Rangers/Celtic.
Didn't realise it was a Wall pub as I thought that end of Lewisham was Palace?

Fight never got going mate but Decca deserved it, Francis was out of shape and didn't do much to trouble him. Called for a re-match straight after but I think Decca will be looking at another fight now.

I was delighted when they turned the Red Lion in Brentford into a McDs. It meant that I didn't have to waste my time playing gigs there any more. Or waste my time watching various wannabee bands 'strut their stuff' there either..

Put it this way I would have gone for an easier fight but he's in unbelievable shape this week so we'll see.

Not knocking him at all mate, just think he will be badly outclassed.
Don't really get the bare knuckle stuff, its not bare knuckle for a start, so just stick the gloves on.

There was a pub in Limehouse in early 80s that used to have unlicensed fights in the cellar.
The guvnor of the boozer was pretty handy himself. His son was also a bit of a face over Upton Park.
